Federal Funding

  • Review capital plans and align with eligibility requirements for congressional funding.

    Work with Appropriations and Authorization Committees to ensure eligibility and explain funding need.

    Contribute to narrative portions of grant applications.

Policy Support

  • Work with clients to understand where federal polices are helping - or hindering - local priorities.

    Develop lobbying materials and strategies for clients to engage with Congress.

    Train and support local officials with their outreach and lobbying.

  • Develop legislative strategies to advance client interests, including drafting amendments and legislation.

    Lobby Congress in support of policy outcomes.

    Provide detailed analysis of proposed and existing federal legislation.

Federal Relations

  • Lead client lobbying trips to Washington DC, including materials development, scheduling and message preparation.

    Track priorities and actions taken by Congress and assist clients with analysis and response.

    Connect clients with DC-based activities including media events, committee hearings and testimony and policy development activities.

  • Create and lead district-based meetings with the client and Members of Congress and their key staff.

    Create events and media opportunities to support lobbying and funding agenda.
